The planting of Brazil’s 2019/20 soybean crop has progressed to 21% of the estimated area through last Thursday, in line with the five-year average but below last year’s 34% level, according to agribusiness consultancy AgRural on Monday.

In Paraná state, one of Brazil’s largest producers of the oilseeds, planting reached 33%, the slowest pace for this time in the season since the 2011/12 crop due to dry weather conditions, AgRural said.
